Another option, which I have been using for a while now, is to toggle off GPS altogether.
Then, setup a Bixby Routine and select the apps you would like GPS to turn on when they are open and in the foreground.
Then when the app is closed or no longer in the foreground (visible on your screen) the routine turns off GPS.
Works pretty good. Occasionally, an overly agrressive app will request GPS when opened and before GPS turns on with the Routine. Some weather apps are like this. Overall, good batteryand resource saver as many apps can be pinging GPS in the background even when not open. Turning off GPS and setting up the Routine means you have control over when the apps that you designate have access to GPS.

Lastly, you can long press the GPS icon on Quick Settings and see all the apps that have the GPS permission. Dropping most all apps to basic location accuracy. Google Maps, Waze, etc. are really the only apps that need precision accuracy.

Got it early this morning!
Battery is maybe better, but to early to tell.

The battery life so far is better from what I can tell. I'm monitoring temperature, CPU, battery and location to see what it does after 1 full battery cycle. So far so good. 🙏👏
