Galaxy S24Upgraded to S24.... big mistake!
It deleted emails older than 5 weeks. Your "fix" of going to the 3 lines in upper left does not have any time limit options. So that's out. The only option is based on number of emails with a max of 10000. It still deletes emails! I need those emails from my old phone which was returned in favor of the S24. I got hoodwinked!

Galaxy S24If you have a webmail version for your email provider, your emails should still be in your account. Log in to your email via a web browser and locate the emails you require. If they are not there, you can ask if your email provider can recover them. They usually can if they were deleted with 7-14 days. Also, if your stuff is important to you download it somewhere to back it up. There are multiple apps that will automate that for you. If you are saving 10,000 emails, that's entirely too much, you should only hold onto the ones you think are important and empty your trash; and I highly doubt that 10,000 emails are important. By the way, the totals include emails currently in your trash, inbox, any folders you have and sent emails, so it would help you if you did regular house cleaning.
