Does anyone know how to remove the phone and settings icon on Android Auto? I still want everything to function normally, but just don't want the icons showing.

I noticed under Customize Launcher, it doesn't allow us to remove the phone or settings icon. Any workarounds?

Do you mean that you want to change the icon pack?

No, just remove the icon in general in android auto like you can do with selected apps. For some reason, AA doesn't allow you to deselect the phone and settings icon.

I hope Samsung allows us to in a future update.

Why on earth would you want to do that, they can't be hidden for a reason.

For you thats the case. I don't use them and don't need it, therefore I want them off.

Simple solution. Don't use Android Auto, use your phone for maps, the old fashioned way.

My apologies if you don't understand what I'm getting at and that's okay; to each their own. I can still receive calls, I just don't need to use the phone app or settings on AA. I can use the phone and settings the "old fashioned way" ...on my phone.

I understood what you are getting at.  You never learned to ignore things you don't use.  I don't know why having the icon bar on AA is such a disturbing thing.  It's not like not having it there is going to give you any more screen real estate, the bar will still be there, it would just be blank.  A better option to removing the icons would be just to have the bar slide down, much like hiding the navigation bar on the phone.

Same could be said about the other icons. If Samsung allows us to customize and remove those, give me the option to remove everything to my liking.
