Turning of the automatic start option for music and android auto should solve that issue. Make sure you slide the toggles to the off positions.
Also if you uncheck the apps in the launcher settings for android auto, android auto does not have access to those apps
Connected devices>Androidauto>customize launcher Uncheck Google news Uncheck your music app
If they start automatically after that then reach out to support.
I had to remove my car and readd it before to resolve an issue. It worked. Problem was everything had to be reset to my preferences. Not a huge deal but easier to try other solutions.
