This will be my last inquiry/post.  I had to "call out sick" one day this week and texted my boss and a couple of my co-workers.  After a long nap, I looked to find a text from my boss asking if I was ok.  Come to find out, my text never went out.  Something happened between my phone and bluetooth.  It took me an hour and a half to figure it out before I could resend the text.  I've had it with constantly turning on and off my phone to get it to work.  This was the last straw.  When there are cases of emergency, I need a phone that works and it appears it's not a Samsung anymore.

I hope you all stay safe and healthy and that we all make it through the year and next will be a better one.

Sorry to hear that have had this experience and your first post is also your last post.

I would venture to guess that the issue does not have to do with Bluetooth, unless you somehow used a Bluetooth accessory to send the message.

If I had to guess what happened, it is more likely that if you are using RCS, it was unable to connect to RCS as a result of a network/carrier issue and needed to be resent using a different protocol. If so, this can be remedied by turning on "auto resend as text" in your GMessage settings.

If this doesn't resolve the issue, your may consider contacting your carrier regarding issues with sending/receiving messages.

Hope you can prevent this issue going forward!1760101059776.jpg

As there are many text messaging apps that one can have on their phone, it would be of great help to first state what app you are having difficulties with.

This would making it easier to diagnose your problem and solve it.

Most problems can be solved with more details.

Since the Samsung message app wanted to make phone calls from their app, I switched to the Google message app that appeared during one of their updates (at the exact same time that Samsung's wanted to make phone calls).  And the Google app worked fine until this past Tuesday.

Well it must be my Samsung phone alone then. The message would not send until I fixed the Bluetooth and changed my message app. It doesn't matter at this point anyway, have a new phone coming.

Must be.  Do you perform regular housekeeping in your phone?  Clear the phone's cache partition?  BT has absolutely nothing to do with texts at all.  The fact that you did something with BT and it appeared to fix your issue, was coincidental. The fact that you switched messaging apps would also have something to do with it.  To my knowledge, Samsung messages does not "want to make phone calls".  It has the capability for you to make a call to a contact yourself from within a chat, but it will not call on it's on.  FYI, Google has the same capability.  That these things were happening to you, would seem to indicate crossed signals somewhere, and those crossed signals are usually due to lack of proper basic maintenance practices.

You bought a new phone, whatever brand it is, you will eventually likely run into the same issues if you don't do maintenance chores.

You went and purchased a new phone because you blamed Samsung for something that was not their fault, and entirely fixable.  Even with SMS, it's easy enough to see if a message was sent/delivered by tapping the message.

Texts don't go via BT, they go by mobile. If you have issues with texts, that's a carrier issue - always. It's always best to call out sick, rather than text or email. If you need a written record of your notification, call then text.
