I have google messages. There's some pretty neat features being added that are similar to WhatsApp. I just got the new sensitive images blur filter, delete for everyone and the new refined read receipts and new details UI. I'm waiting for the new universal profile 3.0, which should bring cross-platform MLS encryption. Samsung messages is rolling out some new features too, but if they integrate that Google jibe, I'll definitely switch over.

I only use samsung messages cause I love the customization they have on there app and it's way better on my eyes

I have used Google and Samsung, now Samsung is giving ads and Google has changed for me. Does Google usually not show read and sent delivery?

Google shows delivery & read status for RCS chats, but not SMS.

Ther is actually a setting in there where you can get read receipts even for text messages in Google messages. ✌🏻
