Galaxy S24RCS in Samsung Messages is carrier dependent and access to it is limited/inconsistent across different carriers.
Most carriers are transitioning to Google's RCS backend (Jibe) because it runs through Google's servers, tends to be more compatible with iOS, and doesn't require the carrier to build and maintain their own RCS infrastructure.

Galaxy S24I cannot, for the life of me, understand why people like to clutter up their messaging app with personal photos or themes. Colors for the chat bubbles, I get, but backgrounds? I just want to see my messages and get on with my day. And since you can't customize the background for each individual chat, what's the point?

Galaxy S24I have an ongoing family Messenger chat where someone changes the background seasonally.
It's not a "can't live without it" kind of feature but I can see why people enjoy it.

Galaxy S24Agh. You mean other people can set the background *you* see? That would be horrible (especially when I see what people do with their home screens). I would not want my sister to set the background on our chats, my brain would bleed. I'm not opposed to themes only I can see, I just don't see the point. As mentioned, I do like being able to choose the color for the chat bubbles.

Galaxy S24With the introduction of read receipts and typing indicators to cross-platform messaging via RCS, Apple is adding more and more "fun" features to their IM service to distinguish the iPhone from other phones.
While I personally find these things superfluous, I can understand how some users (especially younger folks) feel left out and want equivalent features.

Galaxy S24Because Gemini is not smart. It has an overly sensitive censor and can't tell words from context. All complaints about Gemini should be addressed to Google, as it is a Google app.
