Date and time on home screen disappeared?

I have just updated my S24 Ultra and it has installed UI 7.0 and the software update.

Before the update , the time and date  was displayed on the standard home screen, in the style shown below  (this is not from my phone but an example I found online)

Since the update,   I do not have the  date shown to the right of the time in the top left corner of the home screen?       1.  how can I get that back?

2.  More generally, how can I control which apps can add a notification alongside the time at the very top of the home screen?

I hate this because LITERALLY... SOMETIMES it shows the date and time SOMETIMES IT DOESN'T

I can't see the percentage in the new battery notification icon. I wear glasses. I could see the old one without them. This is hard to see even with glasses unless it is ~4 inches from my face and I have 20/20 with my glasses. I hate the look of it. I use dark mode and I hate the glare of the white around the tiny battery percentage numbers! Just ditch the absurd circle around the numbers. That would make the numbers slightly larger and more readable. In other words, just go back to how it was. It wasn't broken in the first place!

Same. After update, the ESSENTIAL date is gone from the top bar, really impossible to work smoothly without it. And the battery icon is **bleep**. I regret moving to Samsung - things should not become worse with updates.

@voigemast The default, out of the box, device never had the date in the status bar across the top. 

If it was there before, you had that option enabled in QuickStar. You will need to open Good Lock, click on QuickStar, click on Clock settings, enable the option "Show Date".
