As spam calls are increasing, it was important to have blocking features that would alleviate the issue. Since the recent update, I have noticed that the feature to "Block Unknown Callers" no longer works. This was one of the main reasons for switching from Apple to Samsung. It used to work well and only allow individuals in my contacts list to go through. It's broken now and is allowing spam calls to ring my phone non stop. This is a major problem that needs to be addressed
Downloaded the Google Phone app yesterday, turned off the Do Not Disturb feature and haven't had a single interruption. So far, so good! The app will also help you lookup a callers number and see if it's associated with any spam. I know it's a free app, so I must be the product, but at this point I don't care as long as the annoying 50 calls a day stops. One of the commenters here suggested that the government should be doing more to alleviate thease issues. The FTC doesn't seem to be doing anything significant to stop the out of control spam. As taxpayers we fund this organization and they are not doing thier job. I consider this waste and abuse.. I hope they get defunded next. ๐
