I honestly think they need to add applock. Someone took my phone while it was unlocked and went through my messages, and penetrated my privacy. I need something pre-installed on the ssmsung s24 ultra in order ro lock some of my apps. Samsung really needs to address this issue. I honestly do not know if I can stick with Samsung if this feature isn't introduced as it doesnt respect my privacy.

Think the first issue you didn't address is your phone was unlocked so mistake there to blame a app or anything

If you use any internet security software, there may be an included app lock feature. I use Bitdefender on all my Windows and Android devices. The Android app includes app lock.

You should not leave your device unlocked. samsung has secure folder, and some apps allow you to lock them with finger print

you can remote lock your main phone thru https://www.google.com/android/find/lock so having secondary phone is a must

You left your phone unlocked in a place that, apparently, was not secure or around people you thought could be trusted.  If your privacy is that important, you can

1. Put the messaging app in the secure folder.

2. Download a third-party app that will allow you to lock your app, such as the one @Mujibar suggested. There are a number of apps in the Play store.

3. Keep your phone locked when others are around and it is not on your person. Even locking your sensitive apps will not prevent someone from adding software to keep tabs on you or clone your device if they have hold of your unlocked phone.

My opinion is that it should be on each app's developers to add security to their apps, they way finance and medical apps do.
