Annoyed at the updates

I'm so annoyed at these system updates. I understand the general idea of why they are necessary; security, data usage, etc. But why are they constantly changing the look, function, and usage of my phone?! A few months ago there was an update that changed what I saw when I used the swipe down bar and required an additional left or right swipe to see things that was not required before, it also changed how to power off/restart my phone. Why? Now, I just got a new update and they changed they color scheme of my phone? Everything that was once black and yellow is now white?! Thats all I've noticed so far but I'm sure there will be other changes I haven't clocked yet.  I am so frustrated and disappointed that Samsung continues to do this. As someone that has been with Samsung since the start of the smartphone revolution, all of these ridiculous and unwarranted changes are pushing me to leave.

I agree! My phone updated to the 8 yesterday and I spent all day trying to reconnect my phone to my car. Even Samsung couldn't help me so its still not connected.

Most of the changes can be reversed, including the separated panel.

From the Quick settings panel, tap the pencil > Panel Settings > Together.

As for why these changes are made, I would suggest that Samsung is adopting industry standard methods of phone navigation, which makes switching to Samsung easier.

While this is unfortunate and difficult for many existing users who are not expecting change, it is an overall positive thing when you can pick up any cell phone and it basically works the same way. Just like you wouldn't want cars to operate in completely different ways, requiring you to relearn how to drive depending on the make, cell phones are becoming a commodity item and the industry is standardizing.

I'm 70 years old, and these changes are so annoying! I get used to the way my app icons look, then they all change and it takes forever to find them.
I'm still not used to the last 'update' and now another one is lurking and nagging at me to install it. I'm all for the security updates, but leave everything else alone!!!
