Sorry you experienced this.
It's unlikely that whatever error occurred was a result of an update. This did not occur with any of the Galaxy devices in my household when we updated. This behavior is not normal or expected.
You can set alarms to repeat by selecting the days it repeats. See attached screenshot.

What happened? Your alarms shouldn't be deleted when an update occurs.
REPEATING ALARMS
Repeating alarms are NOT the result of the latest update. It's been there since the first Galaxy device back in 2009 (GT-I7500). Date-specific alarms were added with the Galaxy S6 in 2015. Although you can set to repeat daily or weekly (S-M-T-W-T-F-S), there are no other custom repeat options available, not even Repeat Monthly/Yearly options.
For birthdays (which use date-specific alarms), when I stopped the alarm, I had to update its date and age since there was no Repeat Yearly option. For example, when Michelle turned 28 on 10/28/2025, I had to update the date (10/28/2026) and increment the count (29) manually on the Samsung Clock (1st screenshot).
In the meantime, I had to use alternative alarm apps that support the Repeat Yearly feature, such as the old ZDclock (2nd screenshot). It works on the S23, but not on the S24 and later due to it being a 32-bit only app.
REPEATING TIMERS
Timers do not repeat automatically. You need to manually do so within five minutes of the timer going off, or it will be dismissed automatically.
(If a long timer (usually 24 hours or longer in length) goes off, repeating will reset it to the full amount of time instead of adding extra minutes.)
UPDATES DO NOT DELETE DATA
As with most other apps, updates do not usually delete any app data. If your alarms keep disappearing, maybe your Samsung Clock app data might have been corrupted. That can also be an issue if you use Verizon as your carrier, which does not support Samsung Cloud.
Hope this helps.
