Galaxy S23
Greetings, Samsung Galaxy S23 Community.

First. Please accept my apologies, for my angry, outburst in the subject line of this latest Samsung Galaxy S23 Community inquiry. But I have STUFFED the storage of my Galaxy S23 Ultra smartphone to its maximum capacity, and I desperately need to use the Samsung SmartSwitch software, to purge/offload the accumulated data.

I am currently using a HP ZBook 17 G2 Mobile Workstation, that is running Windows 10 (Pro). At present, the computer has, a Samsung 1TB, Micro SD memory card, a 128GB USB flash card, and Three 2TB Western Digital 'Passport' Hard Drive units, connected to it.

I want to use, the SmartSwitch software to send the accumulated data on my S23, to one of the connected Mass Storage units that's connected to my HP ZBook 17 G2 Mobile Workstation.

Can anyone, ANYONE, who works for SAMSUNG, please, PLEASE, tell me how I can bypass the hard drive of my HP ZBook 17 G2 Mobile Workstation. And transfer the accumulated contents of my totally stuffed Galaxy S23, to any one of the THREE (3) Western Digital 'Passport' external hard drives?

This is a extremely desperate data preservation matter of crucial importance.

Thanking you, in Advance.

Respectfully Desperate...

It's my understanding that the Smart Switch app is used when upgrading from one Samsung phone to another (See attached photo.).

To transfer files, you simply need to connect your phone to your device via the USB cable, then open Windows File Explorer, and drag and drop or copy and paste files just like any other file.

For details on transferring files, please consult your user manual. A copy can be viewed in this app under the Support tab found on the main page.

Also, this is a forum where Samsung users attempt to assist other Samsung users with their Samsung products and services. While we do have some moderators here, their main function is to police community policy infractions. Even then, most moderators are peer volunteers and are not Samsung employees.

Smart Switch is not for the transfer of files to a computer. For the computer it is to have a local backup of your phone should you have to perform a factory reset.

For file transfers, all you have to do is connect your phone via USB to your computer, or directly to one of the drives. Then open my files, or file manager on your computer snd move the files as you would any others. You can use Smart Switch to make a full backup of your phone, but not for basic file transfer.

SmartSwitch isn't for file transfer, you can use a thumb drive to transfer files or hook your phone to your laptop and move the files via file manager or my files
