Anyone who has anything important on their devices, should be performing regular backups.  That you didn't think to back things up is on you.  It even says in the update instructions that it is recommended you create a backup prior to installing the update. You have automatic daily backups (for just this reason) of your apps, contacts, music, photos, settings, messages and most other things except personal files you may have downloaded.  So, even if you did not think to back these things up yourself, you won't lose everything. After you replace your phone, the backup will be downloaded and you will be back up and running. Once a phone is "bricked", you will lose all data.  Consider that if you lost or damaged your phone yourself, you would lose what is on the phone, but you will still be able to restore your backup to a new phone.  If you went with another manufacturer, you would still be able to restore your Google backup as long as you log into your new phone with the same Google account which has the backup.

Samsung is unlikely to replace your phone (even if they did, your data would still be gone, except what's in the backup).  There is no way to tell what was on your phone that triggered Knox and bricked your phone. Knox doesn't trigger for no reason. Millions of users got the update and millions of users had no issue such as this.

You are not wrong it is for sure Mt fault for not backing up however both tmbile support, samsung support, and the ubreakifix store all said it was because of the software update 😀 I understand I got **bleep** while others didn't but it is still incredibly disappointing luckily its under warranty still but 99% of my data is still gone

If your automatic backup was on, and it should have been because you can't disable the Samsung backup; and you have to proactively disable the Google backup, you for sure won't lose everything.  You will only lose data in your download folder.  Your photos will be in Google Photos, you contacts will be in Google Contacts  (contacts.google.com).  And they will all come back on your new phone when the backup is restored.  Samsung backup can be restored on a Samsung phone, Google backup gets restored on any other Android phone.

Since your phone is no longer under warranty, and software is generally not waranteed, it is extremely doubtful that anyone will be issuing you a replacement phone unless you had insurance - even if the defect was caused by the update itself.  For some reason, Knox thinks your phone was rooted or you updated via an unofficial apk file.  That may or may not be true, but some defect in the update makes Knox believe it to be true.  It could be you have some other unauthorized software on your device and the update glitched out on that.

Not that it's ever a good time for your phone to break, but at least the Black Friday sales are coming up, so you should be able to get a good deal on whatever phone you decide to replace it with.

Your photos and videos are backed up to Google Photos, so even if everything got erased from your phone they will still be there.  If you have a computer or another phone, open a browser, go to photos.google.com, log into your Google account and all your photos and videos should be there.  The only way they would not be there is if you proactively turned off the Google backup.
