Forced to used Samsung Wallet when using it as a key for my BMW

I have a BMW and use the app as the key. The app requires a wallet app to function. My previous phone was a Pixel so it used the Google Wallet app. On my Samsung, even though I have Google Wallet installed, I am forced to use Samsung Wallet and the BMW app and the Samsung operating system won't let me use Google Wallet.

I'm assuming there isn't a workaround?

I like Samsung's operating system but I don't want to use their duplicated versions of Google's apps. Thing like phone, calendar, contacts, etc.

There is absolutely no reason you cannot use Google wallet even if you have Samsung wallet installed. I have no problem using either wallet on my phone. They do not interfere with each other and I do not believe Samsung is allowed to hinder Google's apps. Something else must be preventing Google wallet from working. Are you getting an error message?
