In 7.0, for some reason, they changed how the Gallery Object Eraser/ Magic Lasso worked, a feature I use daily.

Here's a 35 second video screen capture I made of it: https://youtube.com/shorts/9e3NFV04g6c?feature=share

Before Update:
  • Select object remover
  • Select the object
  • Hit erase
After Update:
  • Select object remover
  • Wait a few seconds while it automatically scans my image to decide what it thinks should be removed, then selects that. 🤨
  • Deselect what it chose, which is never what I wanted & typically a person or other important object.
  • Select the object I wanted removed.
  • Hit erase.
And there's no way to turn it off.

Everyone uses their phone differently, but has this featureever worked correctly for anyone?

I don't have that issue. Nothing is ever pre selected for me. I just select or circle, then magic happens.

This is what mine does. I made a short screen capture, then realized I couldn't upload it here. I put it on my YouTube channel.

Never saw that before and it's not happening to me or anyone I know who uses the feature.  You say you can't turn it off, but surely you can deselect the items it gets wrong?  The only thing I can suggest to you is to reset the photo editor app and the Galaxy editing service app by deleting the cache and data.  Deleting the data will only delete any settings you changed and you will have to reset them.  Try that and see if this still happens.

settings/apps (show system apps by tapping the icon on the right of the "your apps" section and slide on "show system apps").  Search for "editor", then select the photo editor, clear the cache and data and then select the Galaxy editing service and clear the cache and data. I am not sure which one would contain the object eraser settings, but you can try one, test, and then try the other.
