I use Samsung Internet Browser as my primary web browser. I have the News Feed enabled and read it daily. However, it has not updated for the past 5 days. I have tried to refresh, restart my phone, clear the cache, double check my settings, enable/reenable it, uninstalled and reinstalled the app. It's stuck on the same old news and have not gotten any update whatsoever. I haven't been able to find anyone else with this issue. Please advise, thank you

I've seen the intermittent update delays on the Top News page more than any place else. Check the other news categories and see if you're seeing what I'm seeing in terms of multiple days if not weeks of articles not being updated. Are you seeing the same thing?

Taboola or Samsung, or maybe the two in conjunction with each other, recently did a little news article visual revamp. It was about this time a couple of weeks ago if not longer that I noticed things getting goofy. Maybe this new visual implementation has something to do with the articles not updating. There were some Reuters articles that I couldn't access despite tapping on the links while links to other well-known news sources worked just fine.

Yep, I like SI and the Taboola news feed quite a bit. Apparently Samsung is working on a PC version of the browser. I won't be able to use it on my current computer more than likely since I'm still on Windows 7 for financial and technical logistical reasons, but it would be interesting to try.

I hardly ever go to those other categories, just the Top News, it's been a month at least. So I see the same failure to update in some of the other categories. Newest item in each:

World - 15 days

US - 1 day

Business - 23 hours

Technology - 3 days

Entertainment - 1 day

Sports - 20 hours

Science - 15 days

Politics - 15 days

Health - 4 days

Food - 4 days

Travel - 18 days

Great. Thank you. If tech support does use the link I gave back to this forum post, they can see that this isn't an isolated incident.

I just got my email response from tech support asking me to do things that are outdated and not possible. For instance, they want me to go into SI and change the news feed source, which you can't do because it's Taboola or nothing.  I'm guessing they're just replying with scripts that are old and need to be updated as I told them the first time.

Anyway, it's time to jump through the redundant tech support hoops again and hopefully get this issue resolved soon.

My recent reply to Samsung tech support:

Follow up: Taboola news feed is not updating articles

Samsung Internet version: 29.0.0.59

In the current US SI version, as in several previous versions, Step 2 is irrelevant in the following provided troubleshooting instructions. The only option available is to enable or disable the Taboola news feed. As I already said, changing from News Feed to None and back to News Feed did not solve the problem.

There are no other US SI news options such as Samsung News, MSN, or Google Discover. The current options under Other Content to Show are Privacy Report, Most Visited Pages, News Feed, and None. Please notify your supervisor that you're troubleshooting documentation needs to be updated to reflect this information so that US users, and any other country relevant SI users, are not asked to perform time wasting irrelevant troubleshooting steps:

1. Open Samsung Internet → tap ☰ (menu) → Settings → Homepage → Select Content Providers (or News Feed provider).

2. Make sure a provider (like Taboola news, Samsung News, MSN, or Google Discover) is enabled.

3. If it’s already selected, try switching to another News Feed provider, then back again to the one which you want(Taboola news feed).

Additional details requested:

1. Help us with the short video clip/screenshots of where the news feed is not updating

I've already provided a screenshot of one of the Taboola news feed categories not updating for over 2 weeks, but I will provide it again.

If you go to the provided Samsung Community page link that describes this Taboola news feed update error, you'll see someone else is currently having the same problem. As a matter of fact, that person went above and beyond by providing information on how old the articles are by news category. Some of those news categories contain only one article versus the many that are usually displayed.

Last update time of Taboola news article categories:

World - 15 days

US - 1 day

Business - 23 hours

Technology - 3 days

Entertainment - 1 day

Sports - 20 hours

Science - 15 days

2. Samsung Internet Application version. Settings>> Apps>> Samsung Internet Application.

Samsung Internet version: 29.0.0.59

When submitting an SI Error troubleshooting ticket, users are asked to answer three questions, ie OS Version, Access Type (which is a vague question that needs to be defined), and Description of Error. Please add a fourth question asking for SI version, especially if you're going to ask for it later. It would make more sense to know that information up front rather ask for it after the fact.

3. Model number of the phone. Settings >> About phone >> Model number.

Model name: SM-S906U

This information is already auto-grabbed and filled in the Device field of the Contact Us page as part of the troubleshooting help request. This should not be a redundant request if it's already provided during a troubleshooting ticket submission. If this is a necessary request despite the information already being auto-provided, please notify your supervisor that the initial number information items requested during an SI Error submission needs to be increased from 3 to 5 so this process is more efficient and not wasting the user's time.

Example:

* This support form is for inquiries related to the Samsung Internet application only, and not to the specific website that you are currently on. Please enter the following in detail to help us provide more appropriate support.

1) OS version: Android 16

2) Model name: SM-S906U

3) Access type: T-Mobile

4) Samsung Internet version: 29.0.0.59

5) Description of error: ...

4. Please confirm the email address that associated with your Samsung Account.

*******@gmail.com

User Email information is also auto-grabbed and filled in the Contact Email field on the Contact Us page as part of the troubleshooting ticket submission process, and a seemingly unnecessary time wasting redundant request. If a user didn't have a Samsung account affiliated email, the Contact Us page offers an option to submit a different email address. Either way, you would have received the proper email address so the user could receive a reply, because an email address is mandatorily required for a troubleshooting help request. So re-requesting an email address that's already been either auto or manually provided as a requirement is immensely inefficient.

As I said before, it's becoming apparent that no one at Samsung nor anyone responsible for Samsung Internet is paying attention to whether or not this event is a recurring problem. For the length of time this problem has been occurring for the second time, it doesn't seem anyone at Samsung nor the SI development team even uses its own browser to notice there's a Taboola news feed update problem. If neither Samsung nor the development team are the issue, then whomever is responsible for SI Taboola news functionality needs to keep an eye on this problem on a regular basis until it's fixed and make periodic rechecks.

Thank you for your help and time.

On behalf of all of us who enjoy the Taboola news feed, thank you for hanging in there to get Samsung to resolve it. I have been "that person" on many things, where everyone else just dropped it and moved on, because it so often takes a gargantuan waste of time and effort just to get someone's attention. And then a big fight to make it known why you bothered, during which most of the time you are ghosted and left with nothing for your trouble anyway. Today's world is all about finding another path to a goal rather than fixing what's broken but worth saving. And that's sad. I wish you luck for all for us.

So, this is where SI's Taboola news feed article update problem stands at the moment based on my interaction with Samsung customer service:

Notice from customer center. 12/11/2025

Hello,

Thank you for taking the time and getting back to us with the required information.

We will forward your concern to our development team and once we get an update, we will get back to you at the earliest.

We appreciate your time and patience.

Best regards,

Shradha

I wish I could just contact the dev team directly rather than go through this rigmarole of time wasting redundant information submission and unnecessary troubleshooting steps. It boggles my mind that no one at Samsung USA seems to use the SI browser to the point of not noticing the Taboola news feed update problem that's been going on for over 2 weeks. This event seems to imply that everyone from the top down, ie from the CEO through the executive ranks of the company, aren't using SI or don't care about the Taboola news feed issue. For future use purposes, I've crafted my error reports in Samsung Notes, including all the redundant information wanted and unnecessary troubleshooting attempted, to try and expedite this issue to the dev team if it ever happens again so I'm not reinventing the wheel every time I submit an error report.
