I just bought  an S23 and I refuse to update to the ridiculously ugly and stupid UI 8. Is there any way to stop the constant update reminders? And YES I did turn off the auto download but I still get reminded every day and I want this to stop. It is MY phone and I should get to decide how it looks NOT samsung. Thanks

Pretty substantial jump. I can see how that would be jarring.

Still, I love the design refresh from UI7 onward. New widgets totally changed the way I set up my home screen. Couldn't go back!

Can't wait for 8.5 to squash more of the visual inconsistencies left over from the old look.

Me too!

I use Nova Launcher just so I can have a bigger grid.

For the better, a lot less cartoonish then it use to be.

If I offended you then I am sorry with the pronouns.

See, I don't mind change, whether it being verbage or my OS.

Possibly because your avatar is male?

Exactly, I can't count how many times I have been misgendered here, I don't have a hissy fit when I do get misgendered. I mostly ignore it

Is  the S8 still functional?  I think a lot of apps would not be updatable or backward compatible.  I believe a lot of secure apps will not work.  How strange to want a Samsung device, but not want Samsung innovation.  I think most of us can agree OneUI8 is not a master stroke of genius, though.

As we progress through OS drops apps will say Android 10 and up.

When did 45 become the new 75?

That's all you own is the device.

Google owns Android , and Samsung owns the One Ui Skin.

Samsung's One Ui let's you customize up to a certain point. The design language is theirs to do however they want.
