I just bought an S23 and I refuse to update to the ridiculously ugly and stupid UI 8. Is there any way to stop the constant update reminders? And YES I did turn off the auto download but I still get reminded every day and I want this to stop. It is MY phone and I should get to decide how it looks NOT samsung. Thanks

Galaxy S23I am going to go back to using my S8. These updates are the very reason I hate getting a new phone.

Galaxy S23What is unbelievable is that you assume that everyone wants a phone that can do anything and everything. I am not some young little **bleep** who spends 8 hours a day with my phone in my hand. I am 45 years old, I want a phone that makes calls, send texts and can go on the internet. Nothing more. I never said UI 1 is better. It is what I have been used to for the last 10 years and I don't need the change.

Galaxy S23Dude, you bought an S series phone, that very fact implies that you wanted a phone that "does everything and anything". You could have gone with an A series that does less and saved you a bunch of cash, although you would still be stuck with OneUI8 eventually. Obviously you wanted a change, because if your older phone was serving you well, you didn't need to buy anything else.

Galaxy S23well, if you were happy with your old device and you switched carriers or just were entitled to an upgrade with your current carrier, you didn't need to take the new device. Those phones are never "free". If you break your contract, or return it, you are normally responsible for the full cost of the phone.
