How can I update my phone to the American version?

I have moved to usa from india I want the phone to be updated in American Version

You'd have to buy a new phone I believe. If your phone was not purchased as a us variant then it won't get us variant updates.

I'm not sure if flashing the US U1 firmware would do anything for you. Have you looked at trading it in at an American carrier?
