On the S23 Ultra when I open a MIcrosoft Word document, the S pen cannot handwrite on the screen like it will in "Samsung Notes".  Can the S pen be used to handwrite in a Word document?  If so, how do I handwrite and convert the handwriting to text in a Microsoft Word document?

@userCBa5m6GjKK I just gave this a try. I opened Word and a new document. I tapped the screen in the body of the Word document with the S Pen and an area opens at the bottom of the screen where you can use the S Pen to write text. When you write text there, it will be converted to text in the Word document. Screenshot_20241029_094516_Word.jpg

This is not my experience.  Please elaborate.  Thank you.

@userCBa5m6GjKK See my screenshot. Click in the top part to open the handwriting area in the bottom. Write a word in the bottom and the text appears in the document above.

My "screenshot" on my S23 Ultra is not what you see.  I do NOT have any options to write below as you do.  Lucky you.  I wish I did.

What version of phone do you have?

LongHiker, this is not working for me on my S23 Ultra.

I had a Galaxy Note 8, and I could edit Word documents but no longer.

My impression is that Samsung wants users to use their Notes where this works, but I don't want that.  I want to edit Microsoft Word documents.

@userCBa5m6GjKK I tried this on my Fold 6 and S23 Ultra. Both work as I described. Not sure why it isn't working for you.
