Galaxy S23Happy New Year in Advance,
The Samsung S model mentioned is still slated to get updates from Samsung till 2028.
Regarding the Google Playstore please check the following:
- Internet Connection is stable.
- Clear Cache
- Clear Data and reopen
If that doesn't work Clear your network settings and reconnect to your WiFi and see if that solves the issue. Please also check previous WiFi connections and remove the ones that are no longer being used it can slow down the Internet connection as they are fingerprints in your network.

Galaxy S23Updates for what? Do you mean the Google Play store, the Google Play system or updates in general for your phone? It helps if you are clear.

Galaxy S23I'm sorry, I don't ever look at images that are in dark mode. However, perhaps there was no Play store update because there was nothing to be updated. After a bit of squinting at your screen shot, I can see that I have the same version number for the Play store. The fact that it has not been updated means exactly nothing. The app works, content is added and present. If something works I don't care if it was updated last century or yesterday. It's an app store - what is there to update?
You would not believe how many people conflate Google Play Services with the Google Play Store.

Galaxy S23My A54 5g last updated October 2025 (also unlocked).
Google Play Services is updated to the latest version.
I have followed all of the steps suggested to no avail.
It is a known issue that is affecting Samsung phones. However, there has been no actual fix at this time.
This issue and its history can be located on Google, Reddit, and on this app as well, so I doubt it is something on your individual phone.
Hang in there as there are plenty of phones experiencing the same issue.

Galaxy S23Google Play *store* and Google Play *services* are two different things. Some models are behind on the Play *services* update because Google has not issued it for those devices yet, or they did not want to issue an update for the sake of issuing one if they had nothing to fix. No one seems to know the reason. So, it's nothing you are doing wrong, it's totally a Google issue.

Galaxy S23I totally agree that it is a Google issue.
It is important to differentiate which application is not updating correctly as they are 2 different applications.
"Google Play Services" is used to update applications on Google Play Store as well as Googles own applications and is indeed updating. Google Play Store is not updating.
I'm just explaining for those who do not understand the difference between the two and are reading the posts.
