Galaxy S23I had been struggling for two days trying to connect my Samsung S23 Ultra to my Samsung TV using Smart View, but it just wouldn't work. My phone detected the TV, but every time I tried to connect, it got stuck on "Connecting" and never actually paired.
I tried everything:
:heavy_check_mark: Restarting both the phone and TV
:heavy_check_mark: Clearing the Smart View cache and data
:heavy_check_mark: Resetting network settings
:heavy_check_mark: Connecting via Safe Mode
:heavy_check_mark: Even a factory reset! (Yes, I went that far!)
Nothing worked.
The Solution: SmartThings ā Manage Location
Finally, I found the fix in Samsung SmartThings! Here's what I did:
:keycap_1: Open the SmartThings app on your phone.
:keycap_2: Go to Menu (ā°) > Manage Location.
:keycap_3: Create a New Location (instead of using the default one).
:keycap_4: Add your TV as a new device under this new location.
:keycap_5: Try connecting with Smart View againāand it worked instantly!
Why does this work? š¤
It seems like the old device registration in SmartThings was bugged or corrupted, preventing Smart View from properly recognizing the TV. Creating a fresh location reset the connection, and everything worked as expected.
