Duplicate photos clean out

Im not sure what is going on but before when id click the menu it had clean out and would show duplicate and other stuff but it doesnt seem to be actually checking for duplicates in either regular gallery or secure folder when i try there and i know for a fact that there is duplicate pictures because i was trying to see if it would show up. Ive tried all the methods i could find and the whole check storage but it only shows 1 thing and thats been that way for a year but only the past like month or 2 have i noticed its not checking everything anymore.

Where are you checking - the galler app or my files, or some other app?

Ive checked gallery and my files and even through settings going to storage just trying to see but still it doesnt

What menu are you referring to? In gallery, I have never seen an option for "clean out". In My Files, there is a porion to find duplicate files, but you then get to select which files to delete. In order to be considered a duplicate, files must have the same file name and be in different locations.

You can group pictures in gallery by similarity in order to find and identify duplicates. You can delete the hidden originals of edited photos.

In th Gallery when I click the hamburger menu in lower right corner, I still see "Clean out".

Oh, yeah.  I see it now in mine.  I never looked for it before, so it didn't pop out for me.

So it has it but when i click on it all it ends up having as an option is old files or the one duplicate it listed a year ago because i keep one in a folder of the event and on in wallpaper. Ive made duplicates to test and see but it just doesnt say there are any duplicates either using that method or going into my files

I have also been dealing with this problem. Super frustrating as it was a really neat feature.
