My husband and I both have Galaxy 23 phones and we have been using Bitdefender for a while.  The web protection keeps turning off and bitdefender support says it has to do with battery optimization and background processes. We have made all the changes that we could find on line and those offered by support.  They say that the problem is due to Android operating system and Samsung is worse than some others.

Is anyone else having this issue? If so, any suggestions. If not, what security apps are using?

I have Bitdefender on all my devices. You can set it to never auto-sleep under settings, battery, background usage limits.

Thanks for the information. I'm not sure why, but bitdefender is not one of the apps listed as available to never auto-sleep in the battery settings. I've changed a number of settings due to advice from support. I might need to uninstall and reinstall so I can start over. I've been tempted to change to a different app, but bitdefender works great every where else

Well that's odd. I can go to phone settings -> Battery -> Background usage limits -> Never auto sleeping apps, click the + sign and add Bitdefender.

Is it possible that you can't put it to never auto sleep because it is somehow already allocated to the sleeping apps?  Check the sleeping apps and the deep sleeping apps.  If Bit Defender is in one of those sections, you will have to remove it before you can place it in never sleep.

That was a good suggestion but it's not in either the sleeping or deep sleeping apps. Thanks

What if you uninstalled and reinstalled Bit Defender?

I'm thinking that might need to be the next step. Maybe it will reset all the changes that they recommended. Next time, I'll change one thing ay a time and see what happens.

@userbduqvuvHCl I've used Bit Defender for years. I've seen this issue once or twice but haven't seen it in a long time. In phone settings -> Apps -> Bit Defender -> Battery, mine is set to optimized.
