No clear button and some apps have no text.. just an icon... (when phone is unlocked.) I have cleared cache at boot and for all apps impacted and even went as far as clearing the data from X. Still not fix..

Did you wipe the phone's cache partition after the update?

Yes. I did that, because of the above issues..    Thanks for the reply..  Sorta out of options other than a factory reset..  ๐Ÿ˜

It does not make any sense that some messages have content and others don't.  I would expect none of them to have content or all of them to.

I did like 6 updates from December to now. As fast as they could download.. I think... maybe... it failed to uodate apps between the updates.. or optimize as they say... think the core apps. Optimized.. and maybe a new or next update triggered... assuming there is no way to optimize all apps again.. or refresh.. odd issue. All my settings are set to detailed. And no clear all notifications is problematic...

Hold the apps you want to receive the notification one by one but you should see a little i click that go to App notifications then scroll down to Show content on Lock screen yw

Found the solution.  and root problem. .   "RustDesk: Open-Source Remote Desktop"   The application itself starts (optionally) on boot.  It starts an application service called application casting or something.  When this service starts to stream the android phone to the app (even when not connected) the icon text is removed for some applications.   I don't know if this is a security thing?  but I was able to reproduce it over and over again.   I failed to find any option inside settings that has anything to do with this security option so it sorta leads me to think it is a bug.

Steps to reproduce. Download rust desk, install, set to start on boot.

Reboot phone

unlock phone.  View notifications that have text. (before the service starts)

start app android casting for whole screen, watch your icon notification text disappear.

This problem can also be reproduced by just starting and stopping the service from inside the application.

Anyone have thought on how disable this security option?
