Is Samsung Messages getting dropped/retired? I ask because I keep seeing the attached upgrade note. If I wanted to use Google messages I would but Samsung's is better IMHO.

From everything I'm hearing it's staying around for awhile.  They was too many people that wanted it to stay.

I'm a Google Messages user but I downloaded Samsung Messages from the Galaxy store last week to test it out. I can confirm that RCS does work on my unlocked S25U on the T-Mobile network.

S25 and newer and a lot of the features don't work like theming support. Depending on carrier no RCS support

Reactions don't work in the latest USA version of Sammy Messages like they do with Google. However, this feature was added in the recent Korean build which I hope will come to the US.

I don't think Samsung Messages is going away, but if it did I would not switch to Google Messages. It has a lousy interface and I absolutely hate it. I would switch to an entirely different text client. Anyway, I wish Samsung would stop with the "upgrade" prompts (it's more of a downgrade to me).
