Why can't they go back to the way we used to pick the clock formats before the update? With the way they are set up now, every time I change my lock screen clock, it automatically changes my AOD clock also then I have to go back and change that back to the way I had it. Before the update, you just needed to to the clock you picked and hit the pencil to edit, which does not work now🤦‍♀️ very upsetting to me as I'm very specific as to how I want my phone customized!🤷‍♀️

Because now the lock screen and the AOD are linked. So pick a clock you like for both screens.

Not acceptable. It was perfect before then they changed it

The LS & AOD were inseperably linked in UI 6.1, which was released in 2024.

These changes were made 2 major software versions ago.

Far from perfect, having two totally separate systems for LS and AOD was functional but convoluted. Consolidating the two systems into a single mechanism is much more cohesive from a UI/UX design perspective which is likely why Samsung decided to do it.

You can still use LockStar to customize the AOD if the default options are insufficient for you.

What I'm saying is they were perfect before UI 8 was installed. I was able to go to the little pencil to edit. Now, since update 1 month ago, I can't go there. I have to go to to the end of choiceswhich brings me to last picture. Shows both of my clocks...aod and ls. If I change the aod, it's OK. But if I change ls here it changes but then it also replaces my aod and I have to go back in and change that to what it was before. Didn't have to go thru all that before update. Little pencils to edit worked...don't now!1764905970792.jpg1764905970852.jpg1764905970886.jpg1764905970945.jpg

Why would you need a different clock style between screens, and how did you not notice they were the same for a year?  I pick a clock I like and that's the clock I see on both screens.

Good for you. I enjoyed having a different clock on each screen. It was a nice personalization.

Pssssst...I'm retired and I got all the time in the world to work on designing. I make my own lock screen, AOD and Home screens and they are all different but themed the same. I change these on a regular basis (when the urge hits 😁) . I've never had the same clock for the year. Sorry, I love doing this kinda thing. If they give it, I like to use it!

Well, obviously, they are not giving it anymore.

Well, I'm happy for you that you like the same clock on all your screens. You sound a little judgemental towards me as I prefer to not be boring, but that I'd rather be artistic. Sorry for cluttering up our feed trying to get an answer to such an innocent question!🤷‍♀️
