I have a Samsung S22 and for a long time was able to receive and send phone messages on my car's audio system. At some point a while back this feature stopped working. After thorough testing (2 phones, 2 cars), I've determined the problem is with my phone. I've tried to find it in every setting i can think of, to no avail. Any suggestions?
Have you tried Android Auto? Settings/connected devices/Android Auto. Turn on all the messaging settings.

I installed A-A, and it restored my phonebook to the audio phone screen (which had been deleted by Samsung tech support🫥), but still doesn't show messages. Thanks.
Have you adjusted the AA settings? Go to connected devices/android auto then turn on the following controls: Taskbar widgets, show message notifications, show group messages, show first line of messages. Then scroll back up and tap on "customize launcher, then add "messages" (whichever messaging app you use) to the launcher.
