MMS Error: Removed attachment of banned MimeType

I have a S22 Ultra and S25 on ATT. About an hour ago I noticed that any picture message between phones are going going through and the phone you are sending to says: Removed attachment of banned MimeType.

I've never had this happen, so did a search and saw a lot of posts today on Reddit, but they were mostly happing between Android and iPhone, not Android to Android.

Anyone else having this problem?

Im having the same issue. I have a S23 Ultra and my bestfriend has a IPhone and I can't receive pictures from her.

Theres got to be a larger issue at hand here. Can someone please let us know something?

This issue appears to be fixed now.

There are a number of reports of users who previously experienced the issue no longer experiencing it. I personally am one of them.

I am still experiencing the issue. Android to Android.

Seems to be fixed now, I didn't do anything. So it was probably network/carrier issues.

Yes...issue no pictures going thru android to android on 12/5/25....weird...

What was your carrier? I'm on ATT, but also heard it was happening on Cricket (that is ATT network). But today no issue
