Galaxy S22My S22 Ultra updated to Android 13 this morning. Since then on two separate occasions when I took the phone out of my pocket, it says 'Too many incorrect unlock attempts' and it makes me wait before I can do anything with the phone. The first time it made me wait 5 minutes and the second time 11 minutes.
I cannot enter the PIN and I cannot even turn off the phone until the time has expired. Never experienced this before.
What on earth is going on and how do I stop it?

Galaxy S22I already have accidental protection on. I have now turned off touch sensitivity and also double tap to wake. I will see what happens.
However, I don't understand why this has only happened since I updated to OneUI 5.0 today. In the past if I had an issue with my fingerprint, it would tell me to use my PIN. It never locked me out completely for a period.

Galaxy S22My S22 Ultra just updated, One UI version 5.0, Android version 13. I have had a few occasions over the last two days where my phone says 'too many incorrect unlock attempts', with a 2 hour wait. This is very inconvenient, I couldn't even make a phone call or access some video surveillance photos that I was trying to get over to the police.
I suspect the fingerprint scanner is to blame, and the latest update. Never had an issue like this before.
Accidental touch protection is already on.
Same issues as pnjf. Also, in the past I could enter a PIN if the fingerprint scanner got locked out. That is not an option anymore, just fully locked out of my phone. I have never had this before with any android over the last 10+ years.
I'm surprised there are only two of us that seem to have this problem with S22 Ultra's and the new update.

Galaxy S22I am very sorry to hear you and @pnjf are getting locked out of your phones out of seemingly nowhere, and can understand the inconvenience and frustration this brings. Since accidental touch protection is on, other steps should be tried.
First, I would try changing your unlock method and see if the behavior persists. If it doesn't, see if switching it back to your previous settings helped as well. I would also try turning off and back on the accidental touch protection. Here's a handy guide with steps and more: https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00078955/
If that does not help, the next thing to try is clearing your device's cache partition through recovery mode. You can do so by pressing and holding power button + volume down until it resets itself. Once it resets, quickly hold power + volume up, and release once the Samsung logo appears. After that, just use the volume up and down keys to select "Wipe cache partition", then press power to proceed with it.
If clearing device cache partition did not resolve this, the next thing is to see if a third-party application is causing this behavior in your device. You can utilize this guide for Safe Mode: https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00062983/
If it behaves the same in Safe Mode, is it likely not a third-party application at fault, and the next thing to try is a factory reset. Before doing so, please use this guide on backing up your data ( https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00060517/ ) so you do not lose them permanently, as a factory reset wipes the device of everything that doesn't come pre-installed. The guide for performing the factory reset is here: https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00062029/
If the above troubleshooting did not resolve the locking behavior, it may be time to get the phone looked at by a certified technician. Galaxy S22@Samsung_Moderator: Thanks for replying, I will try some of the suggestions next week when I have more time. I turned off the 'fingerprint unlock' and this has solved the issue. I will try the other suggestions in a week when I get more time, but I thought I would mention to the public that turning off the fingerprint unlock feature is a quick fix that worked for me.

Galaxy S22As I see I am not alone, I am reporting back. I have not had the issue now since I tried a few steps. I probably made a mistake by trying all at once so I don't know which may have fixed it. I turned off and on accidental touch protection. I turned off double tap to wake. I also turned off face recognition (I hardly ever used it) and fingerprint recognition and also touch sensitivity.
A little while later, I turned fingerprint back on and it still seemed OK. After a few days, I turned touch sensitivity back on as I was have occasional issues with my screen protector.
Touch wood, I have not yet had the problem again
