Hello, I had the problem for some months that "other" files would generate on my phone whenever I deleted things to make space.

At first it was just annoying but now I almost can't use my phone because every time I make delete thing more "other" files appear. I already made a post a while ago asking how to delete them but I got no actual awnsers.

So now I can't do anything but buy a new phone because my actual phone is just almost unusable (and for some reason I don't know it always crashed)

My question is, when I transfer my data to the new phone, will all the "unknown files" be transfered too? I hope they don't because if they do I really don't know what to do. Does anyone have a solution if that arrives?

Yes, all files including unknown files will transfer to the new phone. It is part of the phone's system to store files that are not categorized in that folder. Usually, these files are quite small in size and do not take up much space. The crashes you are experiencing are probably attributed to you deleting files that are necessary to properly run the applications on your phone.

I don't think temporary files/cache partition transfer.  I never bothered to check, though.

I'm doing transfers atm, so far I can select what transfers across.., individual apps for example; however, text & call & contacts & email history each seem to go monolithically across though..

What a strange file situation...

Not to be mean but what do u mean "do not take up much space" do you not see that here the unknown files take more than 145gb? (Also the crashes started way longer ago)

Well, for reference I've had my device for a week, and only transfered a few things, but already i have a few gigs of Other in my storage, it could be swap, I dunno either, if it got really large I'd be as concerned as you are too..1752099961776.png

I see, in the original screen shot, 1.45 gb of audio files of some sort. There is no category "unknown files".  One point four five gigabytes is a heck of a lot different than 145 gb. "Other" encompasses the temp and swap file.

The blue part of the storage bar is Other on my phone, OP's blue bar fills the whole remaining space..!
Perhaps clearing the cache method would help here..?

Clearing the cache partition would help. But, since the "other" category encompasses the temp files and the swap file, it's temporary, until temp files fill it up again. One can make it monthly practice. And one should also clear the app caches of the cache hogs.
