Hello benji3,

Thank you so much for posting. Welcome to the Samsung Community. We understand some of your apps are greyed out on S22 Ultra.

Safe Mode disables third-party apps, so their icons may appear greyed out. If only your third party apps are greyed out we recommend exiting safe mode by simply restarting your device.

Color Palette features can cause customization of colors. To turn this feature off. Go to settings> wallpaper and style> tap Color Palette> toggle off the switch next to it> tap apply to save.

Make sure app timers are not enabled as this can cause apps to gray out after time period is reached. Check out your Digital Wellbeing by going to Settings> Digital Wellbeing and Parental controls> and explore the features offered.

Icons can appear to gray out when backing up and restoring process is ongoing or when an app is re-installing. While using Smart Switch apps can appear greyed out.

Check your device storage. If your seems to be low apps can appear greyed out. To check storage go to Settings> Battery and Device care> storage.

If the above steps have not solved this issue reset your phone settings to default without erasing apps or data.

Go to settings> tap General Management> tap Reset> Reset all settings> tap reset to confirm> your phone will restart.

The next thing to do is to back up your device and perform a Factory Data Reset. This reset will reset your device completely, and you will complete the initial set up for your device. After you have backed up your device

Go to Settings> tap General Management> Reset> tap Factory Data Reset> tap Reset> Your phone will delete all data, and you will start from initial set up

If the troubleshooting is not helpful, the phone will need to be evaluated by a certified technician. For service in the U.S., you can take the phone to a local U.S. walk-in service location https://www.ubreakifix.com/samsung or to ship the phone in for service, please reach out to us via one of the following options:
