I recently posted a message looking for support as to why I would get a duplicate message when I would send myself a message. Samsung recommended that I clear my cache, reboot my phone, update the Samsung Messages, check wifi network, none of these recommendations worked. I did a test switch to Google Messages to see if I would get duplicate texts, and I only received the original text I sent myself . I'm staying with Samsung Messages cause Google Messages does not work with Samsung Themes and I don't like dull messaging
