I dont like the the app. If you put it to your ear to listen it closes and you have to start all over again. To listen on speaker is annoying. Who wants to push 5 things & wait just to check a simple voice mail? I've tried everything I can find on At&t & Google.

Are you talking about voicemail or visual voicemail? Because with a VVM app, you only have to press one message at a time to listen. That's what makes it practical, you can decide in which order you want to retrieve your messages. If you don't want VVM, just uninstall the app. I you don't want a voice mailbox at all, you have to contact your carrier and ask them to disable it. You will get no messages and people will just have to call you back or text you

The visual voice mail. From the call log screen I have to push 5 buttons to get it to play my voice mails. There's no app to delete, only gave me the option to force stop. I think I remember getting a notification from at&t to try it some time back. I just would really like to go back to regular voice mail retrievals.

If you have a carrier lickrd phone, you probably can't uninstall the app, but you can still do regular voice mail retrievals by long pressing the "1" on the phone dialer. My VVM app is a separate app, not integrated into the dialer screen. I just open the app (or tap the notification) and choose which message I want to hear. I don't do anything from the call log - why would you even have to? If AT&T gave you visual voicemail, there is certainly an app installed on your phone that you can get to directly. If it did not end up with a shortcut on your home screen, you may have to search your app drawer (or the apps list in settings) for it and add it to your screen. I don't know why it would disconnect if you hold the phone to your ear, it should not do that. Try holding it with the bottom edge away from your cheek.

I don't get a vm alert. I have to open the call log and it shows a vm. Then I have to open it click it,click the vm symbol, it then goes to visual voice mail. Then click it again & press play, and then press speaker. Now my cheek is definitely the problem, but the speaker & pause play buttons are at my ear. Idk what's happening with it but it's crazy. What's a carrier linked phone? And thank you for your time, means alot for you to tryin help me.
