Hi,

Its been just 15 days I have bought the phone and it started giving me overheating error resulting in closing of whatever application I am using at that moment. Another weird part is that the rubber lining from the bottom right has melted and come out.

Funny thing relating to Samsung Service here in Pakistan, they have advised that we will replace the whole panel of the phone and the whole brace of the screen through our service center. Which is totally unacceptable. Imagine having brand new phone full repaired and parts changed just because it was faulty by production. I am in great help from Samsung Global to please help me out from this. What makes sense is that the phone should be totally replaced with a new phone instead of repairing it.

Hello,

Thanks for reaching out. This forum is for the support of US products and customers. As your product is a non-US model and the support for these models is very limited, please seek a support team for your area. You can do so by using this link here: https://www.samsung.com/us/common/visitlocationsite.html

For US users, here are a few tips on tips on why overheating occurs on your device:

If the phone only feels warm/slightly hot in these situations, this is normal.

  • Apps running in the background
  • When charging
  • Downloading apps, data, etc.
  • Games
  • GPS in use
  • Phone cases trap heat
  • Screen staying on
  • Streaming video or audio
  • Video chat

Tips on how to reduce overheating:

  1. Remove device case/cover and see if this cools it down.
  2. Unplug the charger if the phone is fully charged.
  3. Close apps running in the background.
  4. Close app and browser tabs you are not using
  5. Uninstall any apps you downloaded before the problem started.
  6. Turn off network connections you are not using
  7. Reduce the screen timeout.
  8. Remove the battery (if removable), inspect for any damage, dust, etc., and reinsert it.
  9. If the issue continues, test with an alternate battery.
