Hi everyone,
I wanted to share something strange I found on my Galaxy S25 that might help others.

Every time I plugged in my phone to charge, the Samsung Internet app would open automatically — even on different chargers. After some checking, I found a suspicious Routine in the Modes and Routines app called “PowerSave.”

Here’s what it did:

Triggers when the phone is charging and Wi-Fi is on.

Checks the date and time, and if certain conditions are met, it automatically goes to this website:

This routine was not created by me, and I had already deleted all suspicious apps. When I booted into Safe Mode, the Internet app stopped opening automatically — which confirmed it was software-related.

If you’re seeing similar behavior:

1. Open Modes and Routines → check for any routines you didn’t make (especially named “PowerSave,” “BatterySaver,” etc.).

2. Delete any suspicious ones.

3. Go to Settings → Apps → Modes and Routines → Storage → Clear data to reset it.

4. Consider scanning with Samsung Device Care → Security and Google Play Protect.

5. Restart your phone and watch if the issue stops.

I hope this helps others who might be dealing with the same problem. It’s worth checking your routines if your phone behaves oddly when charging.

Stay safe! 💡

Thank you for reaching out to us about this because I've been trying everything out to figure out what's going on
I don't go on naughty sites, I don't click on anything unless my children send it and they made it themselves because they're safe about things themselves. I just couldn't put it together and thanks to you, problem is fixed. I think they need to fix that error though. It's not on us and I'll be taking my phone to get it checked out for bugs or anyone who may have gotten in there because of the issues. People making these apps really need to be more careful because things like this can be harmful not only to our phones or computers but also to our lives. I hope they fix this issue quickly 🙏

I know how frustrating it can be. It took me a few weeks to figure it out. Fortunately I was finally able to figure it out and I figured other people must also have this same issue so I decided to post it here. Im glad it was able to help you. In your situation, was there also the power saver routine?

I had so many pop ups, I couldn't talk to my son half way across the Country on MEET. It kept popping up every few minutes at first, then went to every few seconds. Now, it's pretty much whenever I'm charging but will sometimes interfere in conversations when we're in MEET or Discord, Whatsapp, anywhere where we try to talk and see each other. I think someone got into my phone so for now, I'll be using another phone.

I've deleted everything on my phone and am waiting to hear back from the "cleaners" as I call them. I took it to have it debugged and checked throughly so as to make positive there are no hackers or any viruses in it. Better safe than sorry later.
