Phone is suddenly blocking a number on my contacts list. Says "Blocked number, Blocked by Phone".
I did not block the number, therefore it does not appear in settings>blocked numbers, so I can't unblock it from there.
Because it is in my contacts list, the option to report and mark it as not spam doesn't exist, clicking on the number, call, or contact, in any way just calls up the contact listing. So far, that is the only solution I see anyone offering, and it simply does not work in this situation. There is no option in the contact listing to mark as safe.
I have tried deleting the contact and making a new one, but that didn't work either.
I have tried blocking the contact and unblocking it and that also did not work.
Basically, what we need is an option on a blocked call to immediately call up a "mark number as safe" option. But that doesn't exist. Also, numbers on our contact list should be automatically marked as safe, unless we take action to block it. Why that isn't a feature is beyond me.

Galaxy S PhonesIf you have a number in your call log that says blocked by phone, you can certainly tap on it, and report it as not spam. You may not have blocked the contact, but carriers are starting to block numbers that have been spoofed for spamming and have been placed on a universal block list.
To report a number in your call list as not spam, tap on the number and on the bottom of the call information screen is an option to block/unblock and the "more" menu. Tap more and select report. When the list comes up, mark as not spam.

Galaxy S PhonesWhen I tap a number in my call log, it does NOT give me an option to report it. It only takes me directly to the contact info. The "more" menu gives an option to block, but only confirm the block or cancel the block or delete the call from history. There is no unblock anywhere, and no option to report.

Galaxy S PhonesThe block/report option ONLY comes up if the number is from an unknown. But it does not come up if the person is identified or in my contact list. This is what I am trying to tell everybody but no one seems to understand. When the number is from someone who you actually know and is in your contacts, you can only delete them, and not mark them as safe. It's an absolutely terrible system and I can't find a way to get around it.

Galaxy S PhonesThen that particular contact has their number on either your carrier's block list or a universal block list. It may have been spoofed for spam calls and reported. Try removing them from your contacts, and then see if you can report the number as not spam. Then add them back to your contacts. You can contact hiya directly to see what's going on with the number: hiyahelp.zendesk.com, or reach out to your carrier to find out if the number is on a block list.

Galaxy S PhonesI'm having the same problem. My phone is blocking calls from my work place. If I turn on the "only block high risk setting" I get at least ten spam calls a day. I don't understand why I can't manually safe list numbers that are in my contact list

Galaxy S PhonesSame problem. A number on my favorite contacts list is being blocked for no reason. Why is there no "mark as safe" choice? This seems like a rather obvious thing we should be able to do. I get SO much spam, but the phone is blocking my actual contact list instead. What the actual?
