OEM unlock restriction is a violation of my rights, and rights of other people who uses root. My question is, can I get root access on one UI 7 and update to One UI 8 with bootloader unlocked. Will it be force locked? This is the only way to restore Knox functionality for me and thousands of other "power users"

i mean, we have long software support. A series now has 6x Android version and S series 7x Android version, tbh there's no point unlocking bootloader

however if you need it so badly, simply buy other brand that allow unlocking bootloader

anyway just ask those "power users" in proper forum

Why do you all hate bootloader unlock? If I need some root features, and love Samsung, I don't have a choice.

For example VPN tethering, global system ads blocker, etc.

I paid for the phone, i assume i can do what i want with it, imagine if your pc blocked you from installing Linux or some other OS, or even better, if Windows didnt let u install any exe from the internet (which google will do soon to android), and a phone is just a pocket pc, its still a computer, even if companies dont want you to think of it that way, I also paid for the phone at the time knowing that the bootloader unlock option was available and i had that choice, now it's getting taken away, HOWEVER.. this ISNT samsungs fault, to the surprise of everyone, this is actually because of an EU law that got passed saying that all radio devices must only run software authorized by the manufacturer or something like that, for US users this isnt new as they didnt have that option for a while now.

You assumed wrong. You can do whatever you want to the hardware. The software belongs to Google and Samsung. You get to use it under a licensing agreement. If you put your phone into service and clicked OK to the TOS and EULA, you agreed ro abide by the terms. If you want to jailbreak your phone, support and security is void. You should also maybe choose a device that can either do want you want it to do from the getgo, or one that you can unlock. PCs are not phones, so it's a false equivalence.

It is my decision to void my warranty and void support etc, i do not expect samsung to provide any help if i decide to alter my software, however i bought the phone under the pretense that samsung is known to let people do what they want to their software as they don't care that much, however this is an eu regulation that they had to comply with so its not their fault like i said, but i do not understand why you are saying i should choose a device that can do anything i want from the getgo, i did?? at the time samsung allowed you to do what you want, so i do not see what you are saying, the software does belong to them, however you owning the hardware should mean you can install whatever software you want on it and utilize that hardware in a way you want, if you cant, then you dont really own it now do you, you dont need to accept the license if you flashed a custom rom etc thats more firmware that doesnt require you to accept any licenses and terms.

Its on our own risk you can get request and give unlock code or similar and since we have requested its our risk what ever it may be

Samsung has elected not to allow that risk.
