Message plays immediately when opening voicemail

Suddenly, after a scam voicemail, the message plays immediately when I open voicemail in my S9 phone (latest software). I have deleted the phone call itself, but cannot get rid of the message, since my voicemail options do not present themselves. How can I get my "voicemail options first" back?

The S9 phone is 7 years old. Voicemail is a carrier-specific feature. Any issues with it should be taken up with your network provider.

S9 hasn't had update in some years minus apps perhaps anyway in the message options there is usually a save or delete option

Have only found option to delete phone call, but not to delete voicemail of get voicemail toto respond first with its menu. Thanks, anyway.

I would contact your carrier they may need to reprovision voicemail
