That's perfectly fine, but I still enjoy utilizing the app. Just sharing some potential ideas.

I won't pretend to fully understand Samsung's approach to their messaging app, but from what I can gather it seems to vary by region based on carrier infrastructure.

For example, emoji tapbacks were recently added in South Korea, where the carrier RCS infrastructure exists to support Samsung messages.

At the same time, chat heads (bubbles) have recently been reported missing from the app in the US, where most carriers have transitioned to Google's Jibe backend.

Given the fact that Samsung has officially made Google Messages the default messaging app and seems to be removing features from Samsung messages in the US, I would expect to see the app continue to degrade rather than improve in the near future.

As for the point about the pixel, Samsung is the only OEM that still has a proprietary messaging app. Moto, OnePlus, Nothing, Sony, TCL, you name it, Google Messages is the only option for RCS. It's not so much a Pixel thing as an Android thing.

Android is a Google product and you should expect to use at least some Google apps and services, regardless of manufacturer.

That's completely understandable, and I appreciate the information. I utilize other Google services, I specifically mentioned my opinion based off my recent experience using Samsung messages. I've used Google messages since I purchased my S25 Ultra back in July in 2025. Although, I like some of the features I still think Samsung should invest in their native app. Everyone is entitled to their opinions.
