Galaxy S Phones

Hi! I am using a Galaxy S9 phone, and I checked, and the OS is up to date, although it shows it has not been updated for a while - I guess Samsung is no longer updating older phones?

Anyway, within the past couple of days, when I get a text message from my daughter, who has an iPhone, the message says "no subject" and has an arrow that instructs me to download the message. When I press the download arrow, there is a little spinning wheel that spins, and spins, etc, until it gives up.

To be clear, the messages in question are purely text, not even any emojis. The size indicated on the message is 1 or 2 kb.

Does anyone have any idea how to fix this problem?

Thanks!

As @meself said, Samsung Messages doesn't always play nice with iPhones. Google Messages with RCS support is your best bet when messaging iPhone users. Because of the differences between Apple & Android messaging platforms, things won't always translate perfectly. But the experience is much better with Google Messages. There's a more technical explanation, but I think you get the idea.

When I was using my s9 ultra with T-Mobile, I found out it wasn't fully compatible with all there features, so wasn't receiving all my texts or calls all the time

S9 Ultra? You mean the tablet?

Hi! I am on Verizon. How did you figure out it was not compatible?

Thanks!

I don't think it's the same device you have. There was never an S9 Ultra phone. I believe they're referring to a tablet.

Ah, ok, but maybe how he figured out the incompatibility may be useful info?

Doubtful. Calling & texting on a tablet requires a connected phone. It has nothing to do with what you're experiencing.
