Hi there!
This past week Samsung replaced the sleep cycles in the health app with sleep latency. I wish they would have kept it the old way, and added sleep latency as a feature. However, since the change my deep sleep also changed, well, at least that's what the app is telling me. I suddenly only get exactly 20 minutes, for four nights in a row now. That can't be right.
Any suggestions / insights on that? It almost appears it doesn't measure properly.

Thanks!

Same problem with my watch 6 and wife's watch 7... Scores in 40s vs previous 70s and 80s... Lack of deep sleep... Lots of wake time... Sudden change on both watches... S23 ultra my phone... A53 5g wife's phone.

My ring did the same thing as of June 3rd. I put my watch on charge and sleep with my ring only. It worked great before the update now I guess I never sleep, Except when I sleep only with my watch and leave my ring on charge it goes back to a normal sleep score.

Has anyone had any luck correcting their issue with rings/watch tracking sleep properly since the conversion to sleep latency?

My deep sleep has also dropped since the update.  At first I thought maybe I wasn't getting enough deep sleep.  But it's been low every night since the update, which tells me the app changed, not me.  I also agree that sleep latency should only be a "feature", and should definitely not affect your score - especially since it's a new feature.  I meditate when I lay down to sleep and am out like a light in minutes.  I keep getting penalized for that: "oh, it must mean you're overly exhausted, because you fall asleep in less than 5 minutes!"  No, I just know how to go to sleep quickly, so quit slashing my score for it.  I've been penalized every single night since they introduced the new metric.

Just took an update to Galaxy Wearable.  What's New Message: Fixed The Error.

I'm guessing this is where we keep our fingers crossed Samsung has loaded a fix to the sleep latency issues and degraded sleep tracking for rings and watches.

So far I've been hit with this bug at least 4 times since the update.

"Sleep Latency" clocked in at an insane 1 hour, 47 minutes last night... while I was reading before bedtime.

I was asleep within 17 minutes of turning the light off at 10:30pm according to the software.

Over an hour of deep sleep and over 2hrs of REM. Normally this would score in the 90s.

My weekly score averages have been wrecked by this issue, and my month of June average score is taking a serious hit.

This bug really sucks to wake up to in the morning!

Your weekly score averages have been wrecked?  It's not a competition - not even against yourself.

You are entirely missing the point (s).

1) I've provided data here substantiating how normally high-scoring sleep metrics are now rendered very innacurate. This is a large, new bug in the software... On topic.

2) Some of us are achievers who take pride in our accomplishments and absolutely compete against ourselves daily. I'm a mountain runner always looking to PR at races... Off topic.

Dude, it's sleep - what's to compete against? You do you.  You must be a delight. For the record, my sleep scores and statistics are unaltered both after the Health app update and after the OneUI update.  Put in an error report, no one here can make it better, only the developers can.  They won't fix what they don't know about.
