Galaxy Ring
I purchased my Ring in November of 2024, so it's made a proud one year and a month as of today. I have been very happy with the performance so far. It has gone with me everywhere, every day, all day, making it an ideal and comfortable way to track sleep and move around throughout my day.
Just recently, I have noticed that my Ring dies a lot more frequently than usual. I would normally get about four to six days (depending on how long I slept throughout that week) without needing to charge it again, but now it's been falling short of just two days. When charging it to 100%, it would immediately drop to 98% the moment I remove it from its charging case. On top of that, it loses nearly 30% of battery within about three hours of wearing it casually, before stabilising at around 70%, but still draining quicker than normal. I am trying to slow this unusual discharging by wearing my Watch7 as well, but, of course, this isn't the intended way I want to go about my day. I have found that my Ring would die in the middle of a sleep session if not freshly charged, so now I have been wearing my Watch to bed to ensure the entire night is recorded.
I hope Samsung can address this in their next Ring iteration if they get around to it. This Ring has been such a joy to own, that I may just get a new one if this current one can't hold a charge sufficiently anymore.
Have any of you experienced this?
UPDATE, 2 DEC. 2025
So, I did some testing, and it seems that the Ring will rapidly drain to 70% within an hour after charging to 100%. From there, the battery will slowly deplete like it used to do. So, I'm starting to believe this may be a software issue if it always rapidly drops to 70%. I don't see how I can lose 30% of useful battery life out of nowhere, coincidentally after an update. But I don't know for sure.

Allo, mine did pretty much the same thing. There was a software update a couple months ago and it started degrading quickly then. Now it wont hold charge but maybe 2-3 hours.... basically junk. Got it in August 24. Waste of money... would cost 100$ to send it in....

It sounds to me that the recent update could be the cause, if a lot of us are suddenly experiencing the same issue. I hope Samsung looks into this! 🙏
