Hi,

I made the mistake of accepting the DEX update (I now have version 2.0.0.20)

since that update, DEX has never worked again.

the 2 previous versions sort of work (half the time, connecting the phone (samsung official USB cable) would not launch DEX)

when I google the DEX download, I always get the latest version. I want an older one.

can anyone help?

This DEX is useful to me but it has always been very buggy, for years.

This is a misunderstanding. Samsung DEX is not an android app but a Windows/MacOS app:

Try sammobile.com for the apk files. Thought Samsung would have the previous versions as well.

I figured Samsung official site will have it but sammobile.com doesn't just have info for Android devices. Searching the site for dex does bring up links to previous versions.

I came to the same conclusion. This is the first time in 2 years that DEX is totally broken on my laptop. All previous versions never worked fine, they often crashed or wouldn't start but at least it would work about half the time, which was acceptable for private use at work on my work laptop.

I've had issues and disapointments with pretty much all my samsung products (phone, TV, soundbars, tablets and a laptop) the past 5 years hoping that having my devices on the same brand would make them work together better. That was stupid and naive of me.

I think it's time to move one and give my money to another brand.

Samsung, you suck at your products and moreover, you really suck at customer support.
