Galaxy Buds

I've had my Buds 3 Pro for a little more than a year. Been using them around a couple of hours every week in the office or while in transit. They've been working great so far but they just started having a weird issue.

Couple of days ago I picked them to make a call and realized that the case and one earbud was dead (can't remember which one). The other earbuds still had battery left in it. I found it weird but it has happened in the past that the case had some kind of battery drain and since I hadn't used them in a couple of days I thought that was just that. I put them on a charger and left them there.

Next day, I pick them again to make a call, everything is fine, the case is fully recharged as are both earbuds. When I put the buds back in their case, I realized some time later that the case was flashing red. After some testing, the case flash blue 8 times before starting to flash red. The red flash never stops (except the case has no battery left I guess).

Everything works normally, the case and both earbuds charge without issue. The only "issue" is the fact that the flashing is quite annoying and that it is probably causing quite a battery drain on the case.

I just can't find what is causing this. Here is what I have tried so far:

- Made sure the contact of both earbuds and the pins in the case are clean
- Made sure there was no humidity either in the case or on the buds (left them to dry open and the buds out for a whole night)
- The flashing occurs only when the right earbuds is inserted in the case, if there is only the left one there is no issue
- I discharger both earbuds completely and put them back in the case. The flashing light didn't appear for some time but it eventually returned when I took the earbuds out and put them back in the case again.
- Tried a full factory reset of the earbuds using the app on my phone. It didn't change anything

Any idea what might be causing this?

And please, don't refer this post as it clearly doesn't help:

Well, now it seems that they have stopped charing under a specific circumstance:

- If the case is closed with either both earbuds or just the right earbuds in it

If the case is open with both (or just one of them, any of them)  earbuds in it, they charge normally.

That's really weird. I tried reaching out to support and they believe the right earbuds has a defect and needs to be "repaired" (probably replaced). Since I'm over the one year warranty, it will mean I will be charged for it but I must first send them before knowing how much it seems. ALso, since there is no Samsung repair center near me, it means I need to ship them and then wait.

It's all kind of annoying.
