Secure Folder requires lock screen protection in order to access feature

I have a settings question... This has been a back and forth thing for me. I used to be able to have my Secure Folder password protected without having to have any kind of Lock Screen Security. Get a new device, now I need Lock Screen security. My last two devices, I've been able to have my Secure Folder password protected without Lock Screen Wecurity. Just got the Fold 7 and now I need Lock Screen security again. How can I go back to just have it password protected without Lock Screen Security? What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance.

I wonder what the point is of bothering with a secure folder but leaving the rest of your phone unsecured.

The point is that I don't need my phone secured just my Secure Folder secured.

the point is the secure folder is to secure data that is placed in there. i do not need to lock the phone for that. it was fine before the change was made. please put it back how it was and the users who wants to lock their phone will still have the option to do so.

I am at a very big inconvenience for something that was working well to be taken away now i am forced to plafce a stupid pin passcode on my stupid phone to be able to use apps that needs a lockscreen instead of launching them from secure folder
