No "Full Screen Apps" button and games have a black bar on side that won't go away

This genuinely makes me so mad. When you Google how to make apps appear in fullscreen, the official Samsung website gives you this info. Meanwhile, with this latest ONE UI 7 UPDATE, THEY HAVE LITERALLY REMOVED THIS FEATURE. WITHOUT EVEN SAYING ANYTHING. THERE IS NO FULL SCREEN APPS BUTTON IN SETTINGS. it's GONE and now my games have UGLY BLACK BARS ON THE SIDES THAT I CAN'T GET RID OF.

hey i literally made an account just to reply because i updated my phone yesterday and was so sad when i realized it did this 😭 i spent so long trying to figure it out AND I FOUND AN OPTION THAT KIND OF WORKS.

you just have to switch the navigation bar from swipe gestures to buttons and it'll make the game full screen again. doing this also stops you from exiting the app when you swipe up, if your game is played sideways like mine. its kind of tedious to have to switch between the two all the time, but if you hate the black bar like me and the lack of blocking of gestures then this fix is super worth it.

im still mad that this update changed so many features for the worse and i really hope they bring some stuff back. but with this (hopefully temporary fix), at least the gaming experience wont be as bad 😭

thanks so much for the tip! This works for games like honkai impact, where the bars are small, but it unfortunately does nothing for something like BanG Dream, which has my biggest issue. The black bars are literally like half an inch wide on that game, even though it runs great in fullscreen when it's forced to. What makes it even worse is that even though I have it to show the camera cutout, the black bar on that side of the phone is still bigger 😭 so the game isn't even centered on the screen. This update made that game basically unplayable for me LMAO

noooo im sorry to hear that 😭 half an inch wide is crazy lmfao... i downloaded an emulator and everything on my pc cause of how bad games looked on my phone and how it wasnt even centered.. the playing experience was just so bad..

omg did u ever find a fix i have the same problem for bandori too 😭😭 its driving me crazy I swear they had a full screen option on it

No, I never have. Bandori is what made me have such an issue with this, I literally haven't played it since this update because it completely ruined it for me. It's not even centered in the screen so the lanes aren't in the same place. It drives me crazy after playing this game in fullscreen for literally like 4 years.
