Multiwindow only opening apps in landscape

Have had the phone almost two months but since yesterday when I try to open multiple apps while my phone is unfolded it only opens apps in landscape. It will let me drag an app to the left or right screen and show the preview of the screen layouts in portrait but when I let go it always opens both apps in landscape

@nelson58 Are you saying the split screen always opens apps in top/bottom locations? You can't put them side by side?

Yes. I saw a post on reddit where this was a problem all the way back on the fold 4 which has me concerned

I've never seen it and have had Folds since the Fold 3. I wonder if one of the apps you are using only does landscape mode. Also are you using a 3rd party launcher?

Im using chrome and outlook at the same time for work and it's giving me this issue if that's any context

@nelson58 I just tried those 2 apps and it is working fine for me. No problems in Landscape or Portrait. I rotate the phone and the same, both work.

Maybe u are using the preset ones you had saved .. just the two finger swap from the side n see if u can open the apps u want n then re'save them using the 3 dots in the middle of the screen

I dont really ever use the saved presets. I always drag the app icon and it will show like itd about to open them in portrait on the preview of the split screen but as soon as I let go and drop the app it will open both in landscape
