Messages Categories

Ever since the updates lately for some reason Samsung had to play with the categories. Why do I even need them if the messages I wanted to not have to see still stay in All as will? It defeats the purpose and it's not how it worked before this latest update. You shouldn't give it and then change it all over again. Isn't that why you offered it to help. If not, then take it back. It's ridiculous how you play at things just to do something. It's my phone and you shouldn't get to force things on our phone if we don't want it! And you don't even support what you screw up!

Same with having to update my themes more than daily now. You throw some in which I hate and it's not your money you're playing with. Whatever I purchase or rent as it were, ends up being "too old" or "not compatible" or won't update and there's no choice but to delete it. I've had to lose so many that I basically just use free ones then I don't have to waste the many $$$ ever again. And now charging $7.00/$5.00 for old ones . . . such a joke! Keep your themes off my phone. I won't be using them anymore. I might just go for an iPhone this time around.

Samsung Messages is Samsung's app to do with as they please.  They were going to let it die, but brought back a limited version due to popular outcry.  I don't really believe they would like to maintain it, and would rather people switch over to Google Messages. I'm sure there are other messaging apps in the Play store that will let you categorize, but they probably will not have RCS capability.

You can hide categories from All. Not sure if this is what you mean?

As far as Samsung forcing things on your phone, Yes it's your phone, however, Samsung owns the software. You agreed to the End User License Agreement when you purchased your phone.

Pick any messaging app in the Play store. Only Google has RCS, though. If that's important to you. Some people like and use Textra - no RCS with that either, but it  has theme colors.  I don't know if it has organizational categories.  I'm strictly a Google Messages user.

Everything runs together on Google Messaging. I'm a huge Google fan but not this app.

I like all my messages together. When Google had separated business and personal, it drove me crazy. I'd rather scroll or search my messages than have to switch back and forth between tabs. The best thing they did was get rid of it.

Then I guess I shouldn't use the themes software, is that what you're saying?
